A "So´o" Monkey mask from the early to mid 20th century made by Hemba people, Democratic Republic of Congo
So´o means human chimpanzee, having the mouth of a chimpanzee and the face of a human. The mask is used to accompany funeral rituals, guiding people through mourning periods.
